Héron

Héron is Henri Kinkead's creative outlet. It is an exploration of Quebec folklore in all its forms, from Vallières folk songs to Louis Boudreault reels, 2000s indie rock, and Quebec jigs. It is a journey to the heart of the local landscape, which speaks of a profound quest for identity, both individual and collective.

On stage, Héron is a collective of musicians from Montreal's traditional and pop scenes. The quartet's musical identity is clear: violin, acoustic guitar, vocal harmonies, obsessive percussion, and jigs take the audience on a journey through Quebec folklore in all its forms. A Héron show is one of nuances. While the ensemble is capable of creating moments of communion and almost ecclesiastical gentleness, it can also get the party started with traditional tunes that speak to our heritage and touch the heart.
